About Maria

I have been a Boston massage therapist for over 20 years. Following my initial certification, I’ve taken many advanced courses ranging from deep tissue trigger point and myofascial work to restorative and relaxation treatments. Throughout all this massage training, what I’ve realized is that my clients have truly been my BEST teachers. As a result of listening and working on them I have obtained the ability to “read” their bodies, similarly to one who reads braille, in the sense that I can feel and therefore find ones specific problem areas. It is because of that gift of experience, that I have the intuitive skills to provide each client with a truly personalized massage.

The other aspect that has availed me to a unique connection with the body,is my extensive background in ballet. As a dancer your body is your medium for expression, and that immense connection has proven to be invaluable in my work as a massage therapist.

I specialize in Therapeutic Deep Tissue massage work, which is highly effective in alleviating current or chronic pain and tension, while providing clients with a stress relieving and nurturing massage. This type of work is beneficial for a myriad of conditions, such as aiding in overuse problems, headache relief,pre-post operative/injury care as well as the prevention of further issues.

We ask a lot of our bodies, and it is vital that we give back, for it is the only one we have! Massage is an incredibly effective way to do so! My goal is to help my clients achieve the well-being WE ALL DESERVE!

Philosophy

Prevention

It is a given that we all maintain our homes and cars in order to prevent future problems, our bodies need regular maintenance as well!

Massage is a comprehensive way to take care of oneself, in that your actual muscle tissue is being manipulated to help relieve and prevent pain, while reducing stress as well, hence the idea of maintaining what we have and preventing what we don’t want!

Mind-Body connection

Our mind and body are not two separate entities, that which we hold in our minds we also hold in our bodies!

For example a non-tangible thing thing like stress causes tangible results, manifesting in physical pain, digestive and compromised immune system issues, as well as many other ailments.

The power of touch through therapeutic massage “re-connects” our mind and body in a profound way!
